There are a lot of “shippers” out there, meaning people who embrace the development of relationships between characters in certain shows. Although in the majority of shows, couple pairings never end up occurring; however, they thrive in fan fiction stories created by fans. Here’s a look at some of the more popular character pairings that have potential in AGU.
Tommy & Kimi (TK) 
This couple pairing is by far one of the most popular. Fans of Kimi tend to only see her being paired up with one other person from the show; and that’s Tommy. Tommy and Kimi are certainly similar in many ways, including personalities.
They like to persevere and “lead” the group during tenuous moments. Kimi was even referred to as a female version of Tommy during Rugrats. And it does appear the two have feelings for each other, as seen in “TP + KF.” So it’s easy to see why Tommy and Kimi have the potential to hook up.
Tommy & Lil (TL) If it’s not Tommy and Kimi, it’s Tommy and Lil being paired together. This is the other most popular pairing in All Grown Up. In fact, advocates of Tommy and Lil often argue with the supporters of Tommy and Kimi. Both sides are passionate for their cause. Tommy and Lil have known each other for a long time; before Kimi came into the picture.
So it’s no surprise to see these fans so passionate toward their cause of Tommy and Lil being paired together. And although they don’t enjoy similar things, supporters of this couple believe that opposites attract. Lil tends to be one of Tommy’s biggest supporters. Yet it appears Lil would just rather remain friends.
Phil & Kimi (PK)
Kimi could only be paired up with one other ‘Rat from the show, and that’s Phil. It would be rather curious to see how Kimi could put up with Phil and his many quirks.
He still enjoys being a kid and isn’t in any hurry to grow up. You have to wonder how Kimi could put up with Phil’s immaturity and whether she could wait until he finally grew up. But the big question is, would he ever grow up? If Kimi can be patient, understanding, and be willing to put up with a lot of pranks, then Phil and Kimi can work.
Chuckie & Angelica (CA) 
The pairing of Chuckie and Angelica is another of the more popular couples in AGU, according to fans. These two have a tremendous history together; going back to the days when they were babies.
Couple "hints" abound throughout Rugrats that these two would eventually be paired together. But you have to work. Angelica tends to be a high maintenance girl, always wanting the latest fashions to match the recent trends. Chuckie likes staying in the background, and Angelica might be too flashy for him. They certainly are opposite in every way.
Chuckie & Lil (CL)Lil might be more in Chuckie’s league. Back in Rugrats, Chuckie even “married” Lil. But seeing that it’s over nine years later, I’m sure that these two don’t remember a thing about that. This coupling doesn’t tend to be favored very well.
And although Lil would be more perfect for Chuckie, Lil goes overboard for the guys that are popular or make the big splash. Since Chuckie doesn’t like to do anything exciting very often, Lil might not be interested in Chuckie for very long. Yet, Lil did like the fact that Chuckie went crazy in the mall after admitting he stole the tree in “Finster who Stole Christmas.” So you never know.
Phil & Angelica (PA) This one is rather puzzling, considering how these two like very different things. Their personalities may be similar, yet, Angelica doesn’t know how to take a joke very well.
Needless to say, it’s hard to see Angelica putting up with Phil's immaturity and jokes for very long. I don’t even think Angelica could possibly think of having a serious relationship with Phil. And I think Phil would be too grossed out to even be paired up with Angelica. But you never know, years may pass and Phil could turn into a completely different person.
That pretty much sums up all of the potential couples that exist in AGU. All of the other possibilities that exist have nearly zero chance of happening or involve secondary characters. Since production has ended on the series, it doesn’t look like any of these will come to fruition, except in the eyes of the fans that continue to legacy of AGU through fan fiction. But then again, we’ve seen the ‘Rats as babies and tweens. Could a high school version be all that far off (apparently it is!)?
